Case Study
Bay Colony Corporate Center

THE PROBLEM
High Construction Costs (+$30,000) for a Cooling Tower Blow-Down System due to toxic chemicals that could not go to the storm drain. Handling Toxic Chemicals. The on-site staff was concerned about handling toxic chemicals.
High Cost of On-going Chemical Treatment. Management’s objective was to reduce operating costs and simultaneously be a good neighbor by minimizing pollution impacts on a nearby reservoir.
High Cost of On-going Chemical Treatment. Management’s objective was to reduce operating costs and simultaneously be a good neighbor by minimizing pollution impacts on a nearby reservoir.
THE SOLUTION

Conservation Solutions Corporation installed the Clearwater Dolphin Chemical-Free Water Treatment Systems on the cooling towers. The biological activity in the towers is guaranteed at less that 10,000 CFU/ml with absolutely no chemicals. Calcium scale is eliminated with this system and corrosion is also well within control. Since there are no chemicals in the blow-down water, it can flow to the storm drain. This saved +$30,000 in piping costs. There is also no drift of toxic chemicals to the nearby reservoir.

THE RESULTS Measurable Performance

Conservation Solutions Corporation provides water treatment service program to meet
customer requirements (weekly, monthly or quarterly) that includes testing of
conductivity, pH, corrosion racks to evaluate corrosion rates and independent State
certified lab testing of biological activity for the Clearwater guarantee on biological
control. The following are recent results at this facility:

Comments

Service visit included a visual inspection of copper tubes on all units, revealing
no scale formation whatsoever. Water color was consistently opaque with a very
slight amber hue, almost certainly generated from blown-in pollen. Similar dirt
and organic matter were noted on the fill of all units. Water was odorless.
