The Clearwater Dolphin Water Treatment System -
Economic and Environmental Responsibility

Chemicals cost you money!

For every 2500 tons of cooling, 3400 lbs. of chlorine evaporates into the air.

The Dolphin System represents the most economic solution to water treatment, representing a one-time purchase and installation cost* as compared to the annual escalating cost of chemical treatment.  The Dolphin reduces the total cost of system operation by saving energy (through elimination of scale and biofilm), reducing water/sewer usage (by achieving higher cycles of concentration) and avoiding the annual cost of chemicals.

The Dolphin System helps to reduce the environmental footprint of a facility by entirely eliminating chemical drift and its negative impact on air quality.  In addition, by taking chemicals out of the condenser water, the blowdown (bleed) of a cooling tower is also free of chemical additives, thereby putting clean water into a sewer system or water treatment plant.  This blowdown water can potentially be captured and re-used for secondary applications such as irrigation (assuming proper local/state permitting), further highlighting the environmental benefits of this timely green technology.

*  Dolphin Service programs can represent an additional annual cost

Superior Performance

Environmental Benefits

Immediate Savings

  • Total bacteria counts are way below any other water-treatment method (1000-2000 CFU/ml).
  • No odor and a water clarity superior to tap water.
  • Virtually no algae, fungus, or higher life forms on wetted surfaces.
  • Excellent corrosion protection using natural conditions without corrosive chemicals.
  • No encrustation of the fill, bio-debris, or fouling of the chiller.
  • End regulatory, liability, and health-and-safety concerns with chemicals.
  • Improve and simplify mechanical room housekeeping.
  • Eliminate the environmental impact of blowdown, air emissions, and drift from toxic chemicals.
  • Gain green building tax credits and reduce toxic release inventory.
  • Eliminate biofilm as a breeding ground for microbial life and Legionella amplification.
  • Eliminate all chemical costs.
  • Eliminate all indirect costs of chemical addition (e.g., handling, storage, regulation).
  • Elimination of scale and biofilm throughout the system results in greater heat transfer and lower energy costs.
  • Significant savings of water (purchase and disposal fees).
  • Reduced maintenance of the tower and chiller.
